Last week I was on vacation on Oahu - I had such a good time with Milo and Jason. We got to relax alot, swim in the pool, sit on the beach, shop, and visit with our relatives. I was even relaxed on the plane ride to and from and managed to forget that I was even on a plane for a couple of hours. I didn't want to come back, but we're here and its cold and cloudy/foggy. Ah, the summer in San Francisco! My tan is not gonna last.

Milo loves swimming, here he is all tired out after a swim. The trip was really good for him - new weather, new people, new experiences.

Today I went to the dermatologist to have a few skin nubs looked at. There is one on my back [apparently it's a fleshy mole] that has been growing and a tough red little bump on my arm that finally got me into his office. So I had the mole removed today, it was super quick and pretty painless. I will have to go back for the little arm nub because it needs to be cut out since there's some hardened stuff of some kind in there and it takes longer to get that done. Dr Pollat says nothing looks cancerous on me, so thats good news. I come from a family that is very mole prone. I had all of the moles on my face removed about 5 years ago which I can honestly say was super painful but very worth it.
My whole perspective on pain has changed since having Milo. I just can't get worried and fretting about pain after watching him go through blood test after blood test, getting IV's and anesthesia for MRIs, having spinal taps [seems SO painful]. I feel like I have no right to ever complain again. I once had such a big fear of doctors, needles, dentists, anything remotely painful and I would pass out at the mere sight of my blood going into a syringe. Now I've got some backbone. Thank you Milo!

Fourth of July is one of my favorite holidays. It was very foggy here last night, fog rolled in around 5 pm and didn't leave. So we couldn't see any of the big firework shows. Earlier this week, I went to lovely San Bruno and picked up a bag of fireworks so we could light them in the backyard at our 4th BBQ. Tanforan Mall in San Bruno is just past a huge graveyard off the 280. Driving past this vast expanse of white tombstones to buy fireworks is pretty odd. Only "safe & sane" fireworks are legal in California, so there was nothIng crazy shooting off into the stratosphere, but we all satisfied our pyromania for the year. Smoke bombs were probably the most annoying, the glow worms that I remembered from childhood are super lame. Pyropetes, Pagodas and Tequila Sunrises were some of the good ones. Good times!

Tony styles His Little Pony at the BBQ!

Milo gets a 4th of July kiss from dad. He stayed up flirting with the ladies till it got dark, watched a couple of fireworks and then hit the sack.
