A few pics taken over the last couple of weeks at different times of day under varied weather and light conditions. The bluish one was taken as the sun had just set. The foggy one was taken on a rainy day. The view is really pretty, on clear days we can see across the bay.

Trash. San Francisco is full of trash. Now there is a website that brings you the trash fresh from the street - street treats. Every day I walk down second street from Market to Tehama and there is so much crap on the sidewalks not to mention the homeless guys asking for change. It was freezing cold tonight, I was bundled up in gloves, hat, the works and a guy kept bugging me for change. Do these men really think that I am going to whip out my wallet right on 2nd and Market to give them change?? I think not. There are some guys who I regularly give change to. One man sits on 2nd all day and he makes these tiny chairs out of tin cans & fabric. I appreciate his efforts and his art, so I drop him a buck every now & then. My new plan is to submit some treats to this "Street Treats" site.

Saturday was a home shopping marathon. Williams-Sonoma, Home Depot and finally ending the evening at Ikea. It was busy - though we got there at 7pm. Also stopped in the afternoon at the San Mateo Humane Society to check out the dogs. We found two that we liked, but one had been adopted and the other was "on hold" - oh well. In the pic, the blue thing on the left is actually a lamp. It looks more like a toilet brush. The image on right is the carts being returned to the store. Next trip to Ikea?? Give me a month or so to forget what a pain in the ass it is to build the shit that I bought...

Our furniture isn't quite here yet. But, you can see it's going to be really nice when it gets here. Did you know that most sofas take 6-8 weeks to be made? It's true. Even a simple coffee table takes an entire month. Will post pics when everything is all put together.

We moved on January 12th. Ever since then, busy unpacking and decorating the house. Of course work had to be totally insane during the same time. That is why I have not written here, I'll try to make it up! Today I cut my hand on a Cuisinart blade, I just put my hand down on it for some reason. Ouch. It bled alot. Jason & I are going to Ikea tomorrow - that will be an adventure for sure. I am going to eat some of those meatballs and potatoes they have. Get my Swede on, you know.

On Friday night, we went to have sushi at Hanabi (delicious). On the way home, I saw my neighborhood favorite, "i hate you" tag and a face I've seen around that's funny. We spent all weekend packing up for the big move to our new house. I have several paper cuts that will not heal. Ow. Went to Home Depot on Saturday and saw the hugest expanse of crack. I was struggling to get my camera, but Jason didn't want me to capture the moment. It would've been a great shot.

The image on the left is a transient sitting in Pioneer Courthouse Square in Portland. He had a brown bag with a 40 oz. inside and his headband read "Zest for Life". I found this ironic. Center image is a child's striped mitten lying on the sidewalk close to Market Street in the Castro on New Year's Eve. The image at right is the Todai mascot straddling a giant Sapporo Beer at Todai restaurant in Portland, OR. These three are just a summary of my holidays in the city.

Here are a few shots from our snowshoeing trip. It was extremely cold up there, snow was too powdery to build a snowman. You can see that the drive back was pretty slick, too. On Bachelor the snow was much wetter, temperature not so freezing cold. When we arrived back in SF I could not believe how warm it was (65 degrees) and rainy.

Happy New Year! I've been off traveling for Xmas and now it's back to work. Took a week or so off and went to Oregon visiting family. We went snowshoeing on Mt. Hood with my brothers & sisters-in-law. Then we went snowboarding on Mt. Bachelor in Bend with Jason's brother and his girlfriend Ailina. It was great except I fell on my face and got a bit of a shiner. Had a really good Christmas, got to see all the relatives. Seemed to eat lots of meat, Ham, Beef, Steak, etc, things I don't usually eat. Xmas photo gallery to come..
