Last night I dreamt that I was back in Portland, OR in a house like the one I grew up in. My mom & I were getting dressed up to go out. I was looking out my window at the city (downtown Portland) and suddendly I saw a large bomb, big and wide, being dropped in the middle of the city. The explosion is huge, it sends me flying and there is glass all over the place. And we're nowhere close to the explosion. I go wandering around downtown to see what has happened, it's a mess. I somehow run into my cousin, we go back up to my house and start to get ready for her wedding, which we are already one hour late for. She has black hair in this dream. This is the third "catastrophe" dream I've had since Sept. 11. I dreamt a couple of weeks ago that I was outdoors eating lunch with my mom and Jason. While we were sitting there, a giant trailer ran into the side of a hill, and cars were crashing into each other below. A small plane was heading right for us. We get up and start running towards the building, the plane crashes through the building and I wake up....

A collage from Amy's birthday dinner at Buca Di Beppo last Friday. Buca was good, really fun atmosphere. We found a little worm or caterpillar on our pizza (It was on a Basil leaf) so we got free food! I brought party favors (pop rocks, party horns) and we had a great time.

Today I saw "Zoolander" - it was funny, but not as funny as I thought it would be. Zoolander works for "Balls Models" which made me laugh every time I saw it. One great scene involves Zoolander giving himself a wedgie...do I need to say more?? I think part of what made it a little weird, too, is that it takes place in NYC. It seemed as though they had removed any views of NYC with the World Trade Center in it. Another movie I saw last week was "Sleeper", one of Woody Allen's early films. Now, that was a funny movie. Diane Keaton looks really good in it, too. Tonight: "Beautiful People" which I've heard is an excellent movie...

Pic of me at Khan Toke. More pics to come from Tony's Bday.
Last night I dreamt that I was eating a Subway sandwich (which would probably never happen) and I bit down really hard and broke my tooth in half again. This was in combination with a work dream where I am designing, cutting and coding an entire site by myself. I woke up with a clenched jaw and I got barely any sleep. grr.

Chiho Aoshima is featured in the latest issue of Giant Robot. I love her work - very bright, well drawn (in Illustrator) and totally wacked. She is part of the Superflat movement. Really wish I would've seen the exhibit, but it was in L.A., not up here.

Pic of the broken tooth. You can see that 1/4 of the tooth just snapped off. Aww yeah, it's right next to my metal tooth!! Now I will have two metal teeth. Next: Gold front tooth, before it goes out of style. I'm still popping Advils like candy. Anyway, I just updated the look of this blogger and am trying to get it to look just right. Can't believe I am handcoding this, I must be insane.

Here are two Afro Kens - one is the Katsu afroken which I'm coveting (left) the other one I bought. It's ken with hair that looks like rice, because he's trying to make friends with rice. My tooth has been hurting today, it is still not fixed. I spent two hours at the dentist last week, 3 shots of novocaine. I am such a wuss, but I really hate going to the dentist. I have pics of my broken tooth but did not bring 'em home so maybe this weekend I will post them. Or maybe not.

Over the weekend I had a dream that I was in my mom & stepdad's new home, which is a house I've dreamed about before. It's enormous, big enough to fit 3 houses into. They have a large pool in the middle of it. The family is all getting ready for a party. I'm chopping vegetables & cleaning up, when I notice that there are giant Koi in the pool and I worry that they will scare our guests. I put my hand in the water, some of the koi try to get my fingers. The fish are huge, but beautiful - orange, yellow, white, red, spotted & solid. This house is full of rich, dark woods and lots of large doors with glass inserts. I've never seen a house like it before but for some reason I dream about it every now & then.
